Greetings!

It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to you and your child on behalf of Columbian Elementary.  It is truly a pleasure to have the opportunity to serve as your principal for another school year.  My continuing goal as your principal is to create a safe, meaningful and successful learning environment that engages the student.

The staff and I are very excited that you have entrusted your child’s education to us. This year’s theme is “T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More”. We will make every effort to help your child achieve academically and socially this year.  Of course, as the first teachers in your child’s life we need your support and cooperation. Columbian has an excellent teaching staff with a wealth of knowledge. We also have an excellent support staff that work in different capacities to support your child’s learning. I agree with H.E. Luccock when he said, “No one can whistle a symphony.  It takes a whole orchestra to play it.” Teachers, parents, and community members need to work together to reach this goal. I encourage you to become an active member of our school community working to educate our youth.   It is my desire to foster and enhance the feeling of a community of lifelong learners.

There will be many opportunities, throughout the year, to

get involved with Columbian Elementary School.

If we (students, parents and teachers) all work together as a

team, students will leave Columbian ready for success as they

enter the middle school.

I look forward to working with you and having a great year.

Please call on me if I can help with anything.

Respectfully,

Sonia Resa
