Attendance

Students should not arrive at school before 7:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, students are expected to go directly to the bus room [gymnasium] or to the cafeteria [if eating breakfast.]

If a parent comes into the school with a child and wishes to wait with his child until class begins, he/she will be expected to go to the bus or breakfast room also.

Once a student arrives at school he/she must enter the building.

No student is allowed to wait outside the building nor may he/she leave the grounds after arriving at school.

Bicycle riding on school grounds is not permitted.

No student will be permitted in classrooms before school [unless he/she has written permission from the teacher.]

The first morning bell rings at 7:50 a.m.

Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. with the ringing of a second bell.

Students who are not in the classroom or in a seat when the bell rings are considered tardy.

Oversleeping or missing the bus will not be an excused tardy to school.

All tardy students must report to the office to receive an admittance slip. Ten tardiness equal one absence.

Perfect attendance is defined as a student not being tardy, not being absent and not leaving early.

When your child will be absent or tardy from school, please remember to contact the school prior to 9:00 a.m.

Prompt arrival at school is expected of all students. Late arrivals disrupt class and cause loss of instruction time.

Any student who arrives after 8:00 a.m. is considered tardy and must stop at the office for a pass that permits him/her to enter the class.

Keep in mind that many activities are done in class and sometimes cannot be duplicated and sent home, thus making attendance very important.

NOTE: Students must be in attendance at least the last half of the school day to participate in activities after school unless they receive approval from the principal.
