The Carthage R-9 School District participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch program. Menus are written and analyzed by the week, keeping at or below 30% fat and 10 % saturated fat.

A positive meal account balance should be kept at all times. Make checks payable to Carthage Schools with your child’s name in the memo line to ensure proper credit to their account.

- Students K-6 is allowed a negative balance up to $3.00 before an alternate meal is given for a limited time. Students 7-12 are not allowed to charge or carry a negative balance. No alternative meal is given.
- Junior and Senior High students have a variety of meal choices to choose from; three different serving lines are available for students. One ala carte line which is priced as marked,(free/reduced pricing not available). One Blue Tray Special line which has a weekly theme bar (free/reduced approved) and Build-a-Meal line which students may choose from hot or cold sandwiches and Big Salads, along with a variety of fruit, veggie and dessert items, (this line is free/reduced approved).
